It's nearly the end of May. This week, let's get to know Rachel Blitch, our wonderful strings teacher!

How long have you been teaching?

This is my 18th year teaching. All of them have been here at Haycock.

What do you love about Haycock?

I love how musical our students are. Whether someone joins strings as a total beginner or comes to me with years of experience, I love how we all make music together ❤️🎶🎻

What makes you smile or brings you calm?

So many things:

• Listening to music, 
• Taking a spin class, 
• Going for a walk with my husband and dog Sadie, or 
• Practicing my viola. 

What books are you currently reading?

The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith

What other media entertains you?

I love going to see live music. I am hoping to get to as many concerts this summer as I can!

What fills your time outside of school?

I love to travel and CAPITALS HOCKEY!!!!

Our students love "fun facts" about people and topics. What's a fun fact about you?

I originally went to college to become an archaeologist. I wanted to be Indiana Jones!
