We are continuing our rebooted Staff Spotlight series of blog posts to introduce the community to more of our staff. Last year, Meg Gerrity joined our staff in third grade. This year, she's been teaching sixth graders!

How many years have you been a teacher?

This is my second year, both of them at Haycock.

What do you love about Haycock?

I really love that there is different collaborative environments for teachers and students to be involved in. For example, I love that I have been able to join two different teaching teams as well as working with the amazing SCA (Student Council Association) officers. 

What makes you smile or brings you calm?

My family brings me calmness and talking with them even from a distance makes me smile everyday.

What books are you currently reading?

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear

What other media entertains you?

After a long day, I like to watch reality TV. Two favorites are The Bachelor and Survivor.

What fills your time outside of school?

I enjoy reading books, drinking lots of coffee, and FaceTiming with my (very young and adorable) nephew.
