We wanted to restart our Staff Spotlight series of blog posts to introduce the community to more of our staff. Many of you have recently met our energetic, friendly Meihua Qian. She works with students on acquiring English skills as our school's only English for Speakers of Other Lanugages (ESOL) teacher. Get to know her below!

How many years have you been a teacher at Haycock?

This is my second year here.

How many years have you been teaching altogether?

I have been a teacher for nineteen years!

What do you love about Haycock?

Haycock has such wonderful students and staff.

What books are you currently reading?

Schooltalk: Rethinking What We Say About and To Students Every Day by Mica Pollock

What other media entertains you?

I love Chinese dramas. I also enjoy the show Memories.

What fills your time outside of school?

My hobbies include traveling and taking walks in nature.

I have lived half of my life in China and half in America.
