We are continuing our rebooted Staff Spotlight series of blog posts to introduce the community to more of our staff. This week highlights Paulette Farmakides, a longtime member of our Haycock community starting her second year as part of our staff.

What did you do before you worked here?

I worked in a pharmacy, then as a nutritionist, and finally landed in education. It is never too late to follow your dreams!

What do you love about Haycock?

I have never felt more included, loved, and supported.  There are friends and there is family; and then there are friends that become family.  That’s how I feel about our teachers, staff and school community. My three children are fortunate enough to be Haycock Cougars, and I am proud to be one too.

What makes you smile or brings you calm?

I enjoy being surrounded by my family, taking walks, being with my dog, dancing, and gardening.

What books are you currently reading?

The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris.

My son and I have been reading many Tim Green books.  We are currently on Perfect Season.

What other media entertains you?

On TV, I love "The Real Housewives of______".

The Blind Side is a favorite movie.

I also love any music that I can dance to!

What fills your time outside of school?

Hiking, walking my golden retriever, traveling to Greece, painting, gardening, and playing the violin
