Reading Goal
Outcome: Students reading on grade level by the end of 3rd Grade
Goal: By June 2024, at least 81% of students in grades 1-3 will demonstrate expected screener within-year growth, and at least 48% of students with disabilities in grades 1-3 will demonstrate on grade level reading ability as measured by the iReady screener.
- Improve daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology in the core language arts block.
- Increase the use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress for students demonstrating risk.
- Expand the use of conversation structures to increase academic talk and build relationships among students.
Mathematics Goal
Outcomes: Growth and performance on state/national/international assessments in math. Successful completion of Algebra 1 by 8th Grade.
Goal: By June 2024, 69% of students in grades 1-6 will demonstrate expected screener within year growth in math as measured by spring iReady assessments.
- Use conversation structures to increase academic talk between students.
- Increase teachers implementation strategies related to Shift 8: from looking for correct answers towards revealing student thinking.
- Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.
Academic Growth & Excellence Goal
Outcome: Growth with evidence in at least one self-identified Portrait of a Graduate skills.
Goal: By June 2024, 100% of students in grades K-6 will complete a Portrait of a Graduate Presentation of Learning (POG-POL) in which they show growth of one POG attribute (Communicator).
- Teachers explicitly name and notice POG attributes.
- Teachers work with students to create a portfolio of evidence and use this to do at least one presentation of learning regarding POG attribute of communicator by the end of the school year.
