How many years have you been at Haycock?

Fifteen years: 14 as a PE teacher and one as a Part Time Instructional Assistant!

How many years have you been teaching altogether?

15 years as a teacher. Fourteen at Haycock and one as a Middle School PE Teacher for Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.

What  do you love about Haycock?

I love the students and enjoy watching them learn for seven years. Seeing a child change and grow from Kindergarten to 6th grade make my heart happy.

My teammate Nisha Hecht makes team teaching every day a joy.

Taking hikes in Cougar Woods with the students and seeing their smiles as they play with friends make my job my happy place.

Working with teachers and staff that are kind and supportive.

I met my best friend Mrs. Kelly while volunteering as a Kindergarten parent, and we have worked together for 15 years at Haycock.

What books are you currently reading?

Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown and Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty

What other media entertains you?

I love going on long walks and listening to the podcast We Can Do Hard Things by Glennon Doyle. Brené Brown's podcast Unlocking Us is also a series I loved last summer.

What fills your time outside of school?

I enjoy hiking or walking with friends. I am currently working on hiking sections of the trail that runs along Pimmit Run to the Potomac. I hope to be able to walk the entire trail at one time.
